Nakagawa Northern Hokkaido Area

The roadside rest area “Nakagawa” is about 90 km south of the City of Wakkanai via the National Highway 40, and it is located in the center of the plain around the middle reaches of the Teshio-Gawa River, a first-class river.
The fireplace with steel hood hanging from the ceiling is placed in the front of the entrance hall, and its firewood burning bright flame welcomes visitors during the ong winter of the northern Hokkaido region.
On the other hand, as its internal atmosphere is very comfortable with artworks in summer, it provides comfortable setting to visitors as facility of feeling snugly warm.
Around the “Nakagawa,” there are attractions including the natural history museum “Nakagawa-machi Eco Museum Center,” the hot-spring/accommodation resort “Ponpira Aqua Rizuingu” and the drive-up campground “Na-Port Park.”
