Hokuo no Kaze Michinoeki Tobetsu  Central Hokkaido Area

Nordic Winds of Michi-no-Eki Tobetsu, a roadside rest area in the town of Tobetsu, is close to Sapporo Ohashi Bridge on National Highway 337. This is the closest roadside rest area to downtown Sapporo. The building is distinguished by its rust-red color and gable roofs. This color and roofing are common in the traditional houses of Leksand, Sweden, a sister municipality of Tobetsu.
One of the restaurants here is Café Terzina, operated by Chef Hideki Horikawa of the Terzina restaurant chain, who is an advocate of Hokkaido Italian cuisine. A farmers’ market offers a bounty of fresh local vegetables. A shop operated by a local business serves foods for takeout. Tobest Shop, a local specialty shop, sells various processed foods from local areas and sister municipalities. And Sweets, which is operated by Ichikyo Daifukudo, sells rice cake and dumplings made from local rice. Nordic Winds of Michi-no-Eki Tobetsu focuses on foods that make the most of local ingredients.
