Shiriuchi Southern Hokkaido Area

Located along National Highway 228 and closed to the entrance of the Seikan Tunnel, the roadside rest area “Shiriuchi” is served as the center for travelers who explore the Town of Shiriuchi with a history of about 800 years.
The Japan’s oldest hole-shaped grave in the Old Stone Age was founded at this site, and it is designated as the Japan’s important cultural property.
Shiriuchi is the hometown of the Enka singer, Saburo Kitajima, and his related goods are sold in the Product Promotion Pavilion.
